Dear Concordia parents,
With the warm months just around the corner, perhaps your student is planning travels or beginning a summer job. As things slow down on Concordia’s two campuses over the next months, I would like to share some university highlights with you.
Thanks to our incredible community of students, parents, faculty, staff, donors, friends and alumni, we have had another standout year.
Concordia continues to lead in university rankings:
Our research funding is on the rise with more than $53 million in the last year.
We continue to see record enrollment with 50,000 students making Concordia their first choice of university.
We are more than halfway towards our ambitious $250-million target for our Campaign for Concordia: Next-Gen. Now. Recent major gifts towards our campaign include:
- The largest gift in support of students in Concordia history: a $30-million planned gift on behalf of an anonymous donor.
- A $5.6-million gift in support of our Faculty of Fine Arts from the Peter N. Thomson Family Trust. It is the largest gift towards a fine arts program in Quebec history.
This June, 6,000 Concordia students will graduate at our spring convocation ceremonies. They will join our community of 220,000 proud alumni around the world. The world is taking notice of the great things happening at Concordia.
Our community is sending a clear message of confidence and trust in our university. I hope you will join me and take pride in what we have accomplished — and continue to accomplish — together. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Sincerely,

Anne Whitelaw, BFA 87, GrDip 92, PhD 96 Deputy Provost and Vice-Provost, Planning and Positioning
